Dixie Devrie – Ballet, Modern

Miss Dixie has completed 3 years of post-secondary education towards her dance degree.  While she thoroughly enjoyed her dance education, she feels it is in her heart to perform.  So has set her career to the “performance” aspect as well being a well respected and diversified instructor.  She has performed in NextFest, the Dance Explosion festival in Calgary and the Feats Festival in Edmonton where she received a modern scholarship for her spectacular performances.  Miss Dixie has had to work extremely hard to become the dancer she is today and in doing so has become a stickler for technique thus having a keen sense of awareness of how to help her students improve.  She is working towards her completion of her R.A.D. certification this season and will soon be introducing exams to our curriculum.  We are very pleased to welcome Miss Dixie back for a second season at Shylo’s!

Jordan Gibbins – Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap

Miss Jordan has been dancing since the age of 9 at Shylo’s.  Prior to her dancing, she was a successful gymnast for 5 years.  Her love of dance has continually grown over the years and shines through both in the classroom and on stage.  Jordan’s dance resume continues to become more established during each season; she has been featured in the “Six-O” Canadian dance catalogue, and has performed with the prestigious Feats Festival of Dance for the past 2 years where she has been able to share her love of dance with other talented dancers on the local stage. She has received numerous dance scholarships that have allowed her to travel to places such as Montreal, Saskatoon, New York City, Vancouver and Russia. As a 4th year recipient of the Triple Threat Dance Conventions scholarship, she will continue to challenge the choreography offered this new season.  Jordan has been an assistant teacher as well as a substitute teacher and solo choreographer for our studio for the past 3 years.   We are very excited to watch Jordan flourish once again with her own dance career as well as join the teaching Staff at Shylo’s this season!
