FESTIVALS
Shylo’s School of Performing Arts will be entering two to seven festivals in
the spring depending on which program your child registers for. Each child
must pay an entry fee for each routine entered. Fees will be due in the
following manner:
50% due November 15th
50% due December 1st
CHRISTMAS SHOW
Our Christmas Show is usually held mid-December (date to be confirmed) at
the Horizon Theatre in Spruce Grove. Participants include all pre-school
classes, beginner dancers and some junior dancers. The show runs
approximately for 40 minutes and is followed by a late lunch and visit from
Santa! A newsletter pertaining to this event will be handed out closer to
show date.
YEAR END RECITAL
At the end of the dance season we will be having a recital so the children
can showcase what they have learned throughout the season. Our recital is
the MOST IMPORTANT performance of the year – our dancers have worked very
hard to show you what they have accomplished! Parent and student
participation is a must in order to ensure a successful show!
Our recital has been booked at the Grant MacEwan Community College (10045 –
156 street, Edmonton). Date TBA.
PARENT WATCH WEEKS
No spectators are allowed during classes – this includes parents and
friends. This rule is necessary as it is often distracting to the teachers
and students. We will have two parent watch weeks – one in November and one
in March.
CLASS PICTURES
Picture dates are tentatively set for mid April – a final date will be given
soon. Students are asked to wear their costume, studio hair and studio
makeup. Picture order forms and a schedule will be handed out closer to
these dates. It is very important that everyone attends for the class
pictures!!
